Our Story
In the beginning…
In 2023, the creator of BapCaster — Joshua King — was looking for a way to simplify the online church service management process for his home church. After discovering that most of the available options were either incredibly expensive or impractical, he decided to build a dedicated tool for his church. After a few months of programming a streaming web application, the product was complete — a message library service called FPBC+. This tool made searching for and listening to church messages incredibly simple and allowed visitors to listen to past messages after they had already gone live. After many discussions with numerous pastors, it was apparent that many other Baptist churches were facing the same issue, but didn’t necessarily have the tools they needed to create a service of their own. After much prayer, Joshua heeded the Lord’s will to create BapCaster. The BapCaster creation process began in late December 2023.
About the Founder
From Nashville, Tennessee, Joshua accepted the Lord as his Savior in June 2016. Ever since that day, he has sought ways to serve the Lord. Joshua serves as the web/social manager at his church and founded BapCaster. Joshua holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Information Technology and works in the Data Science field as a programmer at a postsecondary institution. Lordwilling, Joshua will graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Studies in 2026.
“Developing BapCaster has been a significant challenge for me, but I praise the Lord for giving me the opportunity to help provide churches with an avenue to share God’s Word with their communities. When I started working on BapCaster, I felt unprepared to maintain such a project, but I’m grateful that God always gives his servants the tools they need to do His will.”
Recognizing the Need
Before the COVID-19 breakout of 2020, the need for replayable messages was not as relevant; however, to address the increase in regulations for in-person events and meetings, many churches began to post their messages on popular social media sites temporarily. After the events of the Coronavirus, many individuals have started watching services online more than attending church in person due to the comfort. While this is not necessarily ideal, we must continue to reach out to such individuals who are lost in any way possible.
Before the COVID-19 breakout of 2020, replayable messages were not a relevant need. However, as the in-person regulations became tighter and tighter during the pandemic, churches had to make a drastic change. In response, many churches began streaming or uploading their messages to reach out to their community through social media or cloud audio hosting. This strategy worked for many large churches, but some churches were left behind due to being thrown in “social media jail.” Unfortunately, these social media companies are within their right to decide what they will and won’t allow on their websites, but it doesn’t change the fact that many churches are left without a viable place to share the gospel.
The one aspect of live streaming and audio hosting that made big social media services enticing is the fact that they are incredibly inexpensive and, in most cases, free. There are numerous other Church-friendly streaming services, but they are both expensive and impractical. Many of these streaming services are over $60 per month, which is simply not feasible for smaller churches.
All of the problems mentioned made it challenging for many churches to have any digital footprint, hindering growth and reducing engagement. Either water down your messages to reduce your risk of being banned or pay large sums of money for streaming services that allow too many denominations… Enter BapCaster. BapCaster is a message streaming platform for Baptists by Baptists. You have a safe place to share your messages with the world without the concern of being canceled by the “big platforms”. BapCaster is a service that exclusively allows KJV Baptist Churches that are independently run. Our team screens each church to ensure that the reputation of each church using the platform remains safe. And, to make it even better, the price is easy to grasp… give what God leads your church to give.
Because we host the service ourselves, you’ll have a safe place to share your messages without the fear of being deplatformed from the “big platforms” (which is a risk for Independent Baptist Churches). With the increasing risk for fundamental Baptist churches on the big platforms, you must be ready for the worst. BapCaster helps to ensure that your messages are safe from deletion. BapCaster can be used in conjunction with Facebook but provides your community with an easy searching and listening experience on BapCaster Stream.
What makes BapCaster different?
BapCaster differs from the major social media services because it is designed for Baptist Churches. The searching, profiles, and message-handling processes are intuitively designed with the ultimate goal of helping your church spread the gospel. We make it easier for you to be found with a dedicated search engine, allowing your messages to be served to visitors searching for the necessary messages. If visitors want to listen to a message in Acts, they can search for it by book. If they want to hear a specific preacher, they can search for that, too! They can get as specific as listening to a Camp Meeting or Wednesday night message. We also want to help you grow your in-person attendance. By offering features like the church finder, prospective visitors can search for nearby churches using their ZIP code. Finally, your church can get the special care and assistance they need without breaking the bank.
